Looking At Videos For Inspiration

The Script - Before The Worst

After watching this video by The Script, we decided we enjoyed the use of instruments during the video, although be believed it would be hard to produce a performance scene with the amout of people we had willing to be in the video. This has influenced to use an instrument in our video, which we have decided to be a guitar as it will be most fitting with the style that we are after, and also most fitting with our genre of alternative-rock/folk.

Adele - Someone Like You

From looking at Adele's video 'Someone Like You', we were largely influence by the use of black and white editing techniques. The song that we have choosen is very much the same, based upon a love that is lost and found great inspiration from this video.

The Script - Breakeven

This video, we believe is what we would like our video to look closest too. We loved the concept of the protagonist sitting in the room on his own, with the black and white editing, we believed this would fit well with the idea of reminisance which we gained feedback about from our audience questionaire. We also like the black and white editing technique, similar to Adele's 'Someone Like You' video. This video also gave us inspiration for it to be the male that is hurting rather than the stereotypical image of it being the female that it effects the most during the tough time of a break up. Also the idea of flashbacks came from this video which we love to incorporate into our video.

The Script - Nothing

In this video we liked the thought of the day dream at the end of the video, once he has jumped into the water. The idea of fiction and wishing was what we liked and hoped to incorporate this into our video, with the protagonist hoping to be with, or believe he is back with his love. We also like the idea of the video being over a short period of time (an evening), and would like our video to run across a course of a day, with flashbacks of beliefs and wishes through-out.

The Script have played a major influence whilst planning and researching our video.
