At the beginning we had to choose a song that we wanted to use in our music video, we looked through a number of different websites including; www.youtube.com and www.unsigned.com. As a group we believed that looking at websites such as these we would be able to find an artist who was unrecognised and unheard of. We felt that it would be easier to use an artist who was not famous as it would be easier to get permission to be able to use the video due to copyright laws.
As a group we sat down and looked through a number of artists, we knew also that we wanted a more slower and mellow song as we believed it would be easier to film, also with inspiration from artists such as The Script we had a good idea of this was the direction that we wanted to go in. We come across the the artist 'Erick Baker', we looked through a number of different songs that he had uploaded and decided to go with 'When Will I Be Loved'. We believed that the music sounded professional and believed it would help us to help sustain the best grade possible.
Once we had choosen the song and listened to it a number of times, we knew that the song was about love and made a mind map of ideas and emotions that we got from listening to the song. The emotions that we were able to gain from the song included; love, heartbreak, hurt, unhappiness just to name a few. Also with having both male and females in our group we knew that we would be able to tell the tale of some type of love story and so decided to move forward with the song choosen.
